The Origin Story
Ron Passaro and Derek Gregor met at NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program and remained close friends while building careers as composers. Driven by a shared love for New York City and a mutual frustration with how expensive and complicated it is to live here, they created CheapNewYork.nyc.
The platform connects New Yorkers with quality goods at realistic prices. The inventory spans practical, affordable secondhand essentials alongside standout vintage pieces. These curated vintage finds are perfect for collectors tracking down historic audio, photography, and technology gear, as well as anyone looking for character-rich statement pieces to elevate their living space. Cheap New York is also expanding to include upcoming collaborations with local artists and vendors for new and upcycled items.
